B) FACILITIES AVAILABLE 

 OUT PATIENT BLOCK- Available at Room no 50, OPD- B Block ,Victoria Hospital .

a)      OPD Timings: 9am to 4pm – All working days

                                           9am to 1pm -Sundays and General holidays.

b)     Activities:    

 

  • Routine outpatient examination with advice
  • Pulmonary Function Testing(PFT)
  • Demonstration Room-use of inhalers ,peakflow meter , incentive spirometer etc
  • Emergency  First Aid- Nebulisation, oxygen therapy  & other emergency medications etc
  • Minor procedures- Pleural Tapping , FNAC Lymph node.
  • DOTS Facilities(RNTCP) –At  room no .56 –Sputum AFB exam, local DOTS,etc
  • Pulmonary Fitness for Different Surgical procedures (all departments)
  • Special clinics- Bronchial Asthma – every tuesdays
  1. COPD – . – every Thursdays

 

  • Seminar room with Audio Visual aids cum department library facilities.
  • HIV counselling for TB-HIV coinfection
  • Following other diseases are treated in the department

  IN PATIENT BLOCK

  • Wards for in-patients with 60 bed strength – Available at 6th and 7th floors of the centenary building(tower block) with all required treatment facilities. 
  • Adequate space available for staff accomadation.
  • Demonstration room  with  teaching Aids available.
  • Minor procedure room for ICD, pleural tapping, FNAC of lymph node/lung.
  • Brochoscopy facilities -starting shortly
  • Sleep lab- Planned to start.
  • Facilities for management of H1N1 flu with all facilities(6 bed strength)
  • Doctors on duty available round the clock to handle emergancies .

  • Working as a nodal officer  for RNTCP– Implementation  RNTCP in attached hospitals of Bangalore Medical college and Research institute   since 10 years.
  • Working as a state task force chairman RNTCP Karnataka –implementation RNTCP in all Medical colleges of Karnataka state since February 2013.
  • Participated as a Faculty in the state level CME on Tuberculosis held on 30th &31st of August 2013 at Department of Pulmonary Medicine JJMMC,Davangere,Karnataka –     KMC has Granted 4 credit hours vide letter no :KMC/11/CME/112/2013 dated 13/08/2013.
  • Participating as speaker to lecture on topic RNTCP-Role of NGO& Public Private Partnership in the month of march 2014-World TB Day.
